Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Not sure if this is sad or funny

We seem to be the least impacted by the whole 737 Max production halt. Triumph, Spirit, everybody is seeing major consequences and laying off people.

And from what I can tell, so far we've had no layoffs directly related to the issue. As I said, not sure if it's sad or funny...

The Buffoons in Marketing and in the Board Room did not have a say in this.
It’s not their call.
The Max aerodynamics and systems are too far separated from the NG.
The aircraft should have ‘had’ its own type certificate and debuted without MCAS

The 737 MAX line will not be restarted, ever.
Boeing has lost the single-aisle business forever. Chapter 11 will reorganize the company to preserve the still-profitable bits.
You guys need to make other plans. Good luck out there.

Screw them! Bring back every part of the manufacturing process to a Boeing employee. They're s—ing our jobs away. This is an American company and everything should be American made

I hope they do layoff. I just want to know when so I can plan on a nice trip to Hawii or Tahiti. See we make a ton of money and work lot's of OT, so If you've been saving even a little bit of your money you'll be okay. Most people who criticize us are the guys making $17.50 an hour as the manager of a Hotel 6. If the layoffs last for four or five months maybe I'll go to Alaska for a guided fishing and hunting trip. I may not like what's going on with the leaders of Boeing but there is nothing I or any of you can do about it. It s—s but it's true, work hard when you can, play hard when you can. Thank God I work for a union because I get to take my $5,000 signing bonus to the bank next week.

Most of us older folks have been thru "layoffs" at least once. Its part of Boeing, just accept it and keep your big girl panties on..

It won't last that long if Boeing is being truthful.

Eh, some of us aren't worried about getting laid off, I think it's you c—y younger guys that need to worry. Why the hostility? Because you hate the reality that's coming your way? Most of us here know what's coming, why you need to shift the blame? You know how to build a plane? Show Boeing what you're worth, see if they care.Quit picking quarrels with your co-workers. Wait & see. Then wait for the dust to settle. But don't blame your fellow co-workers if it doesn't work out in your favor.

If you’re good at your job you might get lucky and get to train someone with a couple decades seniority, maybe even get a retainer, then they will shuffle the gm’s and you’ll be walkin.

62 million if you don’t sign the code of conduct! That is what the fired former CEO is getting.

Spirit used to be Boeing Wichita until Boeing/McDonald Douglas sold them down the road and sold the business unit to Spirit.

Writings on the wall!!!!! Duh. Sorry but you think boeing goin to pay us all to sit around. The whole debacle is way deeper than we know. When people who supplie parts are being laid off who you thinks next????? Simple math. When Calhoun takes over Monday the axe will fall. Reduction in work force. I’m afraid it’s goin to be deep. It’s just commen sense. Been through 3 layoffs over my time here. Seen it as have many other old timers.
