Heard things are being shaken up in Home Services. Who knows whats going on? Hearing Support Staff layoffs, techs possibly going 1099 (AKA independent kinda like Uber, etc) but I don't know exact details. Anyone have intel?

Support staff here. Our team was reduced from 7 to 4. All of our Inventory Specialist (IS), Asset Coordinators (AC) and Ops manager (DOS) positions were eliminated and the 4 remaining people are now a combination of IS & ACs. I was not chosen to stay and I am relieved. Wish everyone the best of luck!
any more word on this? I work support for A&E and I'm feeling left hanging. I was basically told some people were being let go at the end of the month and that we would be told who be this week. anyone else hear the same thing but then.... nothing?
Looking good for service !!! Really excited for what’s ahead this year. Hiring new techs and getting new vans ... what a time to be a tech
The 1099 thing doesn't work and it never has. They started pushing that idea a long time ago and it's been a glaring failure from the onset. Only, the ones that came up with it did a really nice job hiding that it sets up the 1099 to completely run over Sears. With no checks and balances I don't know how anyone ever expected it to work.
The 1099 situation alone has very likely cost service their business.

There’s NO TRIP. Our Manager already told us in a meeting last month ALONG with not even bringing it back up.
Myself and other LMTs @ EGV not even pushing sells, just completes or just basically ending your day at a decent time.
And the D__K of a Manager there isn’t #1 in sells anymore. Only shows if you treat your subordinates like scum they will give you scum in return.
I work in HE and conduct periodic expense reports for retail and a&e. I can actually say that the guy posting about the annual top performer trip is correct. They have one in retail as well, but that is only for the higher ups in corporate. There is a 1500.00 gift card given to top 10 technician in the country, and those top ten get to stay an extra 3 days compared to the rest of the top 100 who only stay 2 nights. The trip location changes every year. Last year was a resort in FL. This year will in fact be in the Bahamas. But the list hasn't come out yet so that guy posting hasn't been told they'll be invited to the trip as of yet.

They don't need AE at this point .cross country has thousands of service companies.we like doing their work.we are ready.
I can only imagine that one troll complaining about his vacation must be p-ss-d off right now.
So as a independent contractor I can say no to forced overtime and no to the add on call forty miles from home at end of day ? This is going to be a sh – show
It will be a 3 step process in which the Restructuring occurs, step two the new staff that was brought in will then terminate all the techs, managers and lead mentor techs according to budget and record analysis. Step 3 ... After review of the Restructuring process, they will determine that even after drastic measures were taken to decrease loss and expenditure, it is still impossible to turn positive revenue. At that point they are going to release a statement of sale, or an isolated chapter 7 from transform holdco llc this is going on the theory that retail is still open for business at that point. Rough detailed eta for all this is 5 to 6 months.

I am support staff for A&E, positions have been eliminated for 7 of us in the office and 4 new positions are being created. Who gets them is anyone's guess.
