Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Acquire to layoff

This is a strategy and well established history for vmware. Acquire small startups, then lay-off the good minds.

Another acquisition is in the baking (in a few weeks). Little they know, they will be crushed. Welcome to Vmware.

Why on earth would we spend money to acquire a company to lay-off the employees after? If there’s one thing vmw does relatively well it’s acquiring companies.

Extremely lazy management that would prefer hiring new people rather than shift qualified and experienced people to open positions. I'm surprised there hasn't been lawsuits brought against vmware.

It does not make sense at all, yes, we understand. The motivation is not business. It is toxic favoritism that motivates senior directors and VPs at vmware in most Business units.

This toxic culture is the major motivation for decisions including layoffs, bonuses, promotions.

These toxic powerful, with no check, sick VPs and Senior directors, who are majority Indians, alienate individuals, harass them, overload them, intoxicate their Indian peers against them.

Welcome to VMware culture. What you hear from Pat (our CEO) is exact opposite of what Indian senior directors do on the ground.

I see this each day. I hear personally Indian employees plan how to target other non Indians.

It is disgusting place to be in.

I agree all companies layoff every year nothing new. But why would the company layoff employees that are working on the intellectual property that was purchased. So I disagree with you nn that point.

Depends on the strength of the startup.
