Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

HP is now hiring

I guess that way too many managers took the early retirement offer. Now HP is hiring a boat load of managers - in print.

Also, many of the production crew in print took the offer too. Those positions are now being filled with CW's.

It looks like there is a reduction of HP employees through early retirement, but they are being replaced by CW's at a fast rate.

This is at the Corvallis site.

Probably just contract gigs. Useful info from former employees at http://www.hpalumni.org/asap

In Boise? If that is the role I think it is, all of those people in that department are really good people. It was the only part of the company that was actually growing as far as I was aware. A large chunk of MPS over sees DaaS (Managed PCs) on the tech side.

Boise is looking to fill a contract PM role/managed print services, speaking with the recruiter now. Very hesitant to take this for soooo many reasons...

500 is actually quite a few considering the low number of people over 50 at HP.

I heard that less than 500 took early retirement.

Is there any official information to back this up or correct it?
