I saw former VP of SA run rampant. And current VP of WEE, VP of NAUR, VP of D Eng brown nose and tow the line. THEY MOCKED OTHER OFFICES IN OPEN MEETINGS.

They are the “fat to be trimmed.” But many workers couldn’t say anything without fear that they and any of their relatives at that same office would be terminated.

You really think that most of the hard-working people in SA ran “rampant” on the company finances? The SA office is full of good people doing the best job they can they way they are directed. Be mad - but your anger is misplaced. Lots of people in other offices get away with way more than they should because of who their friends are.

It was poorly worded to the employees, yeah. Did you really expect Apache to leave itself open to wrongful termination liability by coddling its workers? Come on; grow up. Your brothers and sisters in every other office have been eating $&@! sandwiches the last 5 years while you lot have been protected and allowed to run rampant over our finances. Now you see how the company values its “greatest asset”; now you get a peek into our world. Welcome.

It was actually a very savvy legal move on Apache’s part, distasteful as it was. Now if and when SA employees are terminated, they can’t claim false hope was given to them. Way too liable of a position for Apache to be in, which is why HR crafted those words very carefully (remember their main purpose is protecting the company from blowback). It should be fairly obvious by now that select individuals will be offered transfers and continued employment, despite this notice of termination.

That certified letter was a poor example of HR and Legal practice. Poorly worded, a ‘very truly yours’, no ‘thank you for your service’ or safety reminder, and most letters weren’t even sealed. People used to be Apache’s greatest asset.

I agree anonymous. I'm getting irritated and sick of all the contradictions and mixed messaging from the executives. A VP saying he "doesn't know where that 10-15% number came from." How about the CEO and the press release??

The certified letter sent to SA employees last Saturday was a joke. It was so poorly worded that some thought they were terminated. Closing the office March 6th, many employees have not been notified if they will have job offers or receive severance, or retirement packages. No decisions! I hope the ones that do receive an offer tell the company to go scratch!

How many from SA were “retired”? How many moved to Houston? What ended up being the “butcher’s bill”? (Not being a jerk, actually concerned for fellow SAs)

Who knows what’s next. Seems like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Who is leading this effort? Thought they brought in experts to help with this and it appears to be a poorly run effort and a complete joke. This is exposing the leadership or lack thereof. I say grow a spine, make some decisions, and let’s get on with it.

When it does come, I hope the people are given more consideration than those in SA. No matter how you feel about that office, it’s shameful.
