401k Match

I heard folk who works for home services get a 401k match. Is it because home service a new acquired or spun off, is that why they will get a match? If that's true how much they will get?

Sound like not every one who works for Home Services is getting a match from comments I read here. So it must be a discretionary thing, like a retention bonus or some sorts. That must be a pain for HR to track.

I work for SHS and A&E at HE, and believe me, there is NO match. There hasn't been a match in years.

Uhh I work for A&E and we have 401K with company match. Don't know if it's just a performance perk per district kinda thing but it started last year like the other post said. Maybe get with your TM and see if he or she can inquire about the status of that??

While I understand the match, Home Services is deteriorating.
It’s not even about repairs anymore, it’s about sells. And don’t forget, A&E is still on the market and will either be sold or dissolved in the coming months.
Managers don’t have the sway as they once have and while Home Services makes money, it’s STILL NOT ENOUGH TO GET SEARS OUT THE RED.

Home Services is not profitable without the parent company. 6% matching is a joke. If you stayed for that you're in for a rude awakening.

Yes they gave us back our 401k match last year due to home services being profitable unlike retail. We receive 6% match. That's the only reason I stayed with A&E is the match. Some of these techs will retire millionaires if they contribute the right way. Yes retail is dead stay away. Service always will be needed, and we work for anyone who calls now, maybe 20% of my weekly service calls are Sears lol the rest are all other companies customers
