So, many of us still have NLOK stocks and the special 12$ dividend is coming.
Should we wait or sell before (to avoid the dividend tax) ?
What about the McAfee rumour ?

As far as I understand it, it's a special dividend (not a recurrent one) and it's a return of investments instead of profit so it's tax free. It has been explained here: https://example.com/2T8F9h0 (a web archive link as the original one requires a subscription) and in some company docs.
I would assume that this is the case at least for the US and for the other countries, one needs to see what's the definition of a dividend from the revenue office or find a tax advisor.
well if the stock loses 12$ the day they give the 12$ dividend, as it should, then we all lose...
plus the fact that in many euro countries, you are taxed a second time on US dividend ...
So the question is ... should you sell just before that dividend ?
I suspect that if someone wants to buy the company it will happen before the dividend date anyway but who knows
Even if you pay a tax on that special dividend, you'll still make money... Don't sell and hold for now.
Sell dont waste time !
