Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Crooked Business

Sad that none of HR have the same answers. We were told repeatedly that our insurance would follow us 15 days from close date and it actually dropped date of release. We were told this every week for 13 weeks. Also never received my vacation time that was supposed to be on my final weeks pay which was last pay and we were granted a $200 buyout bonus and still haven't received that either. But here is the kicker, called 88sears 1st person says please hold and I will get you over to who takes care of that, next person has no clue what I am talking about, third person says Benefits told us that so that's what we told you guys—What you mean you just gave us info because of what one said, nothing in writing? Trust me I know I watched it happen to others but when it is your money it hits different. Get out now—or get screwed over

This is the consequence of sticking with Sears long term. Eddie is a scumbag plain and simple. I am working for another retail (just temp I already gave my two week notice). Its the same sh– in any other place. Unless its Costco your pretty much not getting far in retail. They exploit you and squeeze anything they can (unless you get lucky and land a good position).

Contact the media and tell them Eddie Lampert's Transformco is cheating employees out of the final paycheck. Future investors of his hedge fund may think twice about doing business with him.

Dept of Labor will do nothing. Don't count on it. It's the matter of contract and you have to go to Small Claim Court. Even then, how you are going to enforce payment?
Get all of your vacation time NOW, before you see the door. If you hit the door, think about a new job and how to fix that resume. Don't worry what was not payed. It's not going to get payed.

Sorry you are sool. Whenever transformco is sued for this type of thing they just say the old sears is supposed to pay and tie it up in the courts with confusion. Please get a job elsewhere and do it well.

File a report against Sears with the department of labor as lost wages/vacation they will have no choice but to pay what is owed

I don’t trust any hr with TransformCo. Yesterday I seen a HR lead ask on pebble what the difference between an exempt and non exempt employee is.
