You are correct. 2020 will see those who put up the money for Weatherford’s debt call in their loans and the company will be sold. If it was your money when would you want it back? Wait 18 months for the company to haemorrhage another billion dollars? Or as soon we emerge from chapter 11 with a ‘clean’ balance sheet and so maximise your return? Right now, any recruiting is getting vetted by a 3rd party company with a heap of justification needed for basic workshop roles. Other parts of the business with big order books and dozens of vacancies aren’t even allowed to recruit. These are the tell tale signs that the divisions, or the entire business, is about to be sold. To think otherwise is incredibly naive, chapter 11 wasn’t a new beginning, it was in fact the beginning of the end.
