My Tech manager just up and quit with no warning. He's been with Sears for 24 years with a superb record. I texted him to ask who will officially be our new manager and that's when he told me I'd be smart to update my resume and fast. He said a announcement will be made on Monday. I'm desperately applying for a job everywhere online. Good luck all!

Part timers don't get severance, and unemployment is a fraction of regular pay, plus you don't get benefits, plus it's harder to find work when you don't have a job. What kind of loser thinking is that?
@1jkd - It's possible that he may already have a new job lined up. If that job includes better pay and benefits, then severance and unemployment aren't that much of a concern.

There will be tons of store closings, but I think they will be announced after New Years. Figure (since Jan. 1 is HOLIDAY), maybe around Jan. 2-ish.
