Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

I like working here

I figured Christmas is the best time to share this, maybe people will not be as cruel as other times when somebody says something that doesn't agree with the majority.

Say what you will about GED, but it is still one of the best jobs I've ever had. Pay is decent, work is interesting and I like the people I work with.

Which is why I'm worried about being laid off. I don't want to leave. Anybody else feels this way?

Of course you love it. You have no deliverables and no accountability. Unfortunately this gravy train will end.

You have no purpose. You have no viable product. If you simply like collecting a paycheck, then you have no ethics. The company will figure you out soon enough and give you your pink slip.

@1tnh Not a viable solution, someone dumb enough to buy it also will be way too dumb to create a new useful plan.

You are adrift in a rudderless ship. GE should sell these assets to someone who can actually create a plan forward.

It is very easy to get. Just keep living and you will find yourself getting more and more of it. You can keep it or pass it on, but it is a good idea to keep a small portion for those nights you are feeling so good and you forget you're human.

I agree with you 100%, I love working at GE Digital, the people I work with are great!. I must say I have the same worries you have. In my career, I have worked for a companies like GE Digital, that have org changes every other month it seems. They bring in outside leaders that s— the company dry and then leave with their bonuses. They give a big rah rah as to say how great they are and what they are doing, but in the end nothing ever get accomplished. If you are worried like me, then I would interview, there are companies out are offering 30% pay increases and you don't have to move. In summary stick around and wait to see what happens or jump into the job market before the election in Nov.
