Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

True Story...

No matter what your told by HR head hunters do NOT come here and work for them. D1 in Nashville is failing - You will regret working here every day of your life lol. Do not leave your current job (even if it's in the lowest parts of hell) to come and work for Kroger - even if they pay increase is SUBSTANTIAL.

Poor wages comparatively speaking.
Dehumanizing, belittling leadership.
little to no training - but expectations of perfection.
Zero job security no matter how well you do.
Understaffed, under appreciated and over worked employees.
No down time. Be prepared to live inside the kroger store 24/7.

They are running skeleton crews and the working conditions are abysmal - you won't be trained properly, you will be over worked, under paid, under appreciated and nothing you do will be good enough even if your working 80 hours a week. You will have no job security no matter how good you are and you will have little to zero time to enjoy life. You WILL be stressed all the time. I had employees breaking down and crying - associates in the bathrooms having panic attacks..

Ppl who do fall for their HR lies and get seduced into leaving their former career- don't stay due to poor employee environment. The D1 District manager is a tyrant who is protected by higher ups - He doesn't have the confidence of his store mangers. He has a nasty attitude, belittles ppl, is constantly threatening to terminate (unless he likes you for superficial reasons - like s—ing up to him) - He will take personal jabs at you. He will not care about justifiable excuses for store conditions, like under staffing.

Kroger will put you in an understaffed store with little to no krogerization training and expect perfection. 1 person will do the job of 2-3. When quarterly financials miss the mark (as they have been due to the CEO over promising to share holders and squandering money on krojis and other schemes - not investing in better store conditions - grocery 101) you will be solely blamed by division DMs and VPs.. That is why the turn over rate for SM and ASM is so high here. They just blame them, get rid of them and recruit more s—ers in and then wonder why their having a hard time hiring ppl with all the bad reviews (that are clones of one another, same complaints) employees are leaving. - DO NOT BE ONE OF THE S—ERS.

Save your self the stress and look elsewhere for a job. You have been warned.. You won't be able to say - if your reading this - "Gosh I wish someone would have warned me.." DO NOT resign your former career to work for them. If you need a job and want to try it out, ok - but don't give up a job you already have or turn down another company in favor of Kroger.

Read the reviews online about this company from other employees and you will notice a theme real fast. Even though they just recently raised the wages for new hires in Nashville D1 - DO NOT FALL FOR IT..conditions are atrocious and the extra few dollars will not compensate for the loss of emotional well being and your health lol..You won't last.. Stay put or find work elsewhere.

HORRIBLE. Kroger Technology Department in cincinnati,Ohio is worst place to work.

stupid people are directors who are jealous of their subordinates, insecure.
Accuse sincere employees. gang style culture where they attack another sincere employee and accuse with false stories. Only toxic people stay with the company for many many years and its like contaminated pond, where you can only feel suffocated.

Delta Division is even worse with nasty unprofessionals and is backed up by gang like mentality in the workplace. Belittling and blackballing others and getting them to do your job makes one look like a star. Fake horrible laughing is a stalling tactic one uses on people. Has the backing of other non-talent higher ups. Someday even a dying star collapses within itself to become a black hole.

Happy New Years to all that were terminated in 2019! This article is very true in mid Atlantic also! We were all part of suppose to be restructuring but were quickly replaced by far much younger with no experience. If you are still working be prepared to hear how bad you are after long tenure of devoted service. Get you a plan and be prepared to be knocked down by some dim witted hr person. There is life outside and it’s not full of lies. They are their own worse enemies!
