They say our vacation and sick days will be combined into a single pool for the new system...do we actually get any more days off from this? To me it sounds like we simply lose our sick leave days with zero compensation for the loss.

Oh good so I work 3000 hours a year and someone who works 2000 hours gets a piece of me
I am all for it
They changed it for non-union only for now. to avoid people accruing more sick leave because of the new law in WA that lets gives you more if you've worked more than 1600 hours.
That's why need to vote in the unions where they don't have a presence but people are afraid.
Does not apply to union workers yet.
Yes, you get more time..well kind of.
If you were getting 3 weeks per year, you get 5 now (accrual rate). However, most people were using their 2 weeks sick as vacation anyway.
Previously you could carry 1 year of vacation over...so with 3 weeks, you maxed out at 6. Now, you carry half a years pto over. So with 3 weeks plus 2 weeks (5 weeks pto), you max out at 7.5 weeks.
What you don't get is half of your sick.leave put in a bank for later. Again, not much of an issue since most people used it every year.
