Broadcom wireless/RF unit has been part of its core business, now that it's for sale, does that mean it's winding down core semiconductor business and shifting strategies ?

@6MZ2...
I think there’s only so much sticky finger software platforms to be acquired at the infrastructure level. Other sticky things get into middleware and application layer. I’m not sure if they would want to get into those domains yet. But who knows...
I think Hock wants to shift the company more and more from hardware to software. I think "selling air" for 100% gross margin seems almost too good to be true to Hock. I think he'll continue to milk all the cBroadcom and cAvago cash cows as long as their teats still bear milk but I think software is the future of the company.
Yeah junk BU with a bunch of PhD s with copy and paste thethes.
Ha Apple?!?!? Amazon?!?!? This is Broadcom junk, you would be lucky to land at AMD or Dell
One thing that concerns me is that several analysts specifically mentioned Broadcom's "lack of investment in R&D" for this move. This reeks of the old CA. Milk a segment then dump it. Hopefully a Sanjay event is not in the future.
that would be good. .. better than AMZN buying the BU.
AAPL
selling to whom? Q or NXp?
