Yes read the whole story and you see nothing of what the court case is about. It may be over nothing but transfer of property, equipment, etc.. It could be over the date of transition. We don’t know. What we do know is both UP and METRA are good with basis of the changeover.
It’s a little more serious than just a contract expiring. The issue is playing out in federal court. Read the whole article next time. Also, it just illustrates a bigger point that UP just wants a pile of money with no work and no long term relationships with strategic partners.
Not to support UP or anything, but...it says right there in the article that the agreement is expiring soon.
