I work for this company for 10 years. When I started it was great. As the years passed they cared about there employees less and less. The nurses pay was well below the average for same position in other areas I worked from home but out of the lisle office. If our system went down we were told either take pto or make it up. No support. New people coming in have very little training and leave quickly. They no longer care about the employees. No more summer picnic. No Acknowledgment of the holidays. We were told no more nurses day because then they would have to celebrate all the other department. I have never worked for a company where I was treated so poorly. The final straw was when my manager to us if we need to go to the bathroom other than on our break we need a drs note. So sad cause I really used to enjoy going to wok

Nurse line is being farmed out to the Phillipines and they are losing quite a few nursing home contracts. They are advertising for per diem jobs for nurses.

So to date 20% of work force.. I think we have lives and families and that’s why we are on this blog. For information! Especially when we are working in a very nontransparent company. Obviously not everything may be factual, but a pattern of behavior says a lot. Knowing how to manage the land mines is easier with information. I’m curious what Optum areas are to be impacted in 2020. Thoughts?

People should keep posting. It brings awareness to the magnitude of whats going on and exposes the practice. While UHG-Optum probably doesn't want this site to disclose their practices, it helps bring awareness. Posting to this site doesn't mean someone isn't out looking for a job. Not only should people keep posting, they should be more specific to which division they were in and also call their state and federal representatives!

To BOL: You should get a life. Have fun working for tyrants who micromanage their employees. Your fate is sealed!

Optum/UHG managers are ruthless and are only in it for themselves. You are all heartless individuals and reap what you sow! I would not recommend anyone to work for this company. They lay off people to hire less informed people so that they don't have to pay them adequately. They only hire per diem practitioners currently. Wake up who is left there as full time workers; your days are numbered.

I think this site is a good way avoid life. I think that’s why staff are here. Partly to be informed partly to spin wheels. It’s not like anyone wants to hire us

A few thousand.

Stop worrying though. It is not even amounting to 5% of the workforce when all is said and done. You are wasting so much time and stressing out. If you think you are next to be let go, why are you reading this board and not looking for a new job?
