I still can't figure out how some of the people who are still here are still employed over some of the best employees we ever had who are gone...

Hey $uck$tobeme
We ARE worried. We’ve seen the writing on the wall at other companies and know full well that ADP observes it all then does the same thing years later. That’s what is happening now.
The question becomes where do we land? The Unemployment rate for mid level professionals with a bachelors degree is at the same stagnant rate as 2007. That’s not good news for us. Few people have posted on this site to say they landed in a better spot and I think that might be why there are quite a few veterans left at ADP who haven’t jumped off the sinking ship on their own. Fear of jumping from the frying pan into the fire. An awful position to be in.
AT&T is doing the same thing ADP is doing and maybe more.
- All employees are forced to come into work (no work from home) and they call it collaboration. Even if you have not a single co-worker from your group at your location.
- Every employee is on edge. Constant worry about loosing your job since AT&T is running stats to determine which Div, Group or Indiv can be cut to save money.
- Entire employee groups of 50 - 200 are force moved to contracting companies. They don't consider these layoffs but instead strategic decisions. As an employee are you guaranteed a job for 1yr and then the contracting company can cut you and pay you the 1yr employment compensation.
- Reorg and cuts. In 2019 there was something like 13K layoffs at AT&T. My guess is they cut many older higher pay & benefit employees along with some younger ones. Then determine if they need more employees and hire on young ones at lower pay, less vac & no pension (this is the way of the future)
Be worried. Very worried for our future. If you are under 40 this strategy may be the way of the future (just like bump bump bump the price of generic d–gs).
Best Suggestion: Do your job and do it well. Be pleasant but resist training other on how to do your job. Always offer to take on the workload and do it w/perfection. If they start making changes to your Div or group be worried and think about moving to another more secure team. Take the training classes and get certifications as much as possible internal and external. And..............................Look out for #1 (even if your boss assures you of security don' trust them, they are not the one making the layoff decisions)
@12A1v3xo-2xmn-Are you still there? Are you considered a low-compensated, unskilled employee, if this is the only group they choose to keep? Why are you still there if not paid your worth?
Took the VERP because it was evident the direction things were headed. October 2018 VERP Release date for myself, pulled everything out of ADP, invested into an IRA as of last market close was just shy of a +19% and grateful to have moved on.
No redundancy, just labor cost savings. If ADP wanted its clients satisfied they never would have gotten rid of their experienced and quality personnel, and replaced them with untried cheap newbies. Obviously, ADP's top management does not have an understanding of their processes and what type of talent is required to keep them running. They themselves are like a broken record that refuse to learn and change. Well, it is probably too late to change anyway. But no problem, the top leadership will walk away well compensated anyway once ADP collapses. It must be nice to not be accountable for your work or lack thereof.
yes, the plan is grab anyone with a pulse off the street regardless of their experience. Shoot, they have hired people from McDonald's and were throwing them on payroll calls. no joke. (and that person did NOT last very long by the way).
Then why the VERP? Most of those offered accepted only because they knew they'd be laid off if they hadn't.
@12A1v3xo-1qpb - Redundancy. Still not accurate. ADP wants clients satisfied-whatever the cost and circumstance. We've heard these assumptions over & over again. It's a broken record, non-melodic.
Yes, employees who are targeted for removal are the ones that have some years in at ADP and are earning decent salaries. The aim is to grab people off the street and pay them about a third of what the eliminated employees were making. It is all about saving money on labor costs. And yes, management thinks that anyone could do their jobs, no need to worry there. Right? Wrong. And ADP and the clients are suffering for it. Will ADP's top management ever realize their mistake? Who knows, perhaps management is there to collect their big paychecks and benefits and not have a true understanding of what their company does. It is indeed crazy.
And yes, homeshored employees are also being targeted for elimination because ADP doesn't want its employees working from home anymore.
Tenure employees were also let go due to being highly compensated
Homeshore associates also were let go since they were not in the 1 ADP locations
No rhyme or reason with ADP they think anyone hired off the street can do this job with little or no training. Client’s are the ones suffering
In a normal company managers rank highest to lowest performing associates. ADP which means Accountability Doesn’t Pertain probably uses a brownie point system. There is no rhyme or reason to decision making.
