Intrado announced that they're selling their Claims Recovery businesses (aka "Accent"). Does anyone who work there know if there's going to be any staffing-related impact? Or is it too early to tell?
From benefits to setting up to get paid, it appears to be a mess already!
As with any sale I'm sure once it's finalized it will take 2-3 months and they will start eliminating any assets (people) who are not performing as expected
Hopefully some of the management is downsized with the sale. A clean slate in some areas would be nice!

I don't think anyone is getting defensive. It is what it is. A majority of us should keep our jobs. However, there may be several that choose to leave. Surprisingly, the net revenue is pretty spot on. It is a pretty successful area. If anything I hope with the sale management starts caring a little more about their employees. The secretive nature is pretty bad. Then they wonder why everyone continues to leave...
TheIntradoComedyTour is referring to the name change from WEST to INTRADO, not anything to do with Accent. Seems the Accent folks on here are getting quite defensive.
As for the Accent person stating, "We are keeping our jobs", they're probably mostly correct. Accent has little to no administrative departments of their own like HR, etc. as that's all handled by Intrado. They're mostly operations/production personnel, so for the majority of them, HMS can't just eliminate them.
The number Intrado sold to HMS as Accent's annual revenue - that's so grossly exaggerated and something HMS may walk away from if they figure it out before they close.
Generally speaking, when one business acquires another and the two businesses are very similar, the first step post-acquisition is the identification and elimination of redundancies.
Not saying that's what's going to happen here, but if the buyers of Accent are in the same business as Accent itself, then there could be a lot of redundancies between the two, and that's never a good sign.
Seeing what is going on and hearing from friends at TD the company buying Accent could easily let go of many of us! Accent is trying everything to keep us from jumping ship!
It is not a name change. Accent was sold. Big difference! As someone who has been through several sales this is a good thing for Accent. Accent was sold to West. We have always kept our name.
The leaders of this business do not care about any of the employees. The name change has not and will not help change the outside perception of the terrible mishandling of this organization. You, your family, the hard work you’ve put in does not matter and will not as long as the clown is running the circus.
So happy for you, really! "Getting sold" could be the best thing, and sooner the better...
It is a type of downsizing, but we are keeping our jobs! This is the 3rd time Accent has been sold. We were sold this time to a company that does exactly what we do. This is the first time that has happened. I look at it as a positive for our line of business! We are stepping away from West/Intrado which is a good thing!
I suspect other products to follow. This is another form of downsizing to help focus profit.
