Thread regarding Acosta Sales & Marketing layoffs

A little bit of legal disclosure

Is what arrived by mail today regarding Acosta’s $2.7 Billion debt restructuring. Hadn’t heard about it before today but it may affect my rights. I’m a full timer, hours are relatively decent, pay is low. I do think corporate sales and marketing managers should be north of $75,000 (at my current level) if retention long term for moderate to moderate + talent is important. Benefits are solid. That being said, I’ve also heard rumors of buyouts of other sales and marketing companies which may or may not figure into the overall restructuring plan (just totally unconfirmed). Layoffs may or may not be over but one things for sure, being underpaid isn’t a complete negative going through a Chapter 11 and possibly avoiding unemployment if the company continues to do business. All in all, I don’t have visibility into future plans or what will happen with various clients and contracts, but I will call my current employment status a cautious hold pending a better scenario. In other words, I’m not beating down doors for a raise nor am I running out the door for a 2nd rate opportunity that might pay $20K more per year (short term at least).

Had not heard about it till you got the letter? Where have you been for the past few years; out in space somewhere?
