My wife is a CSM for the on call team and was laid off last week. Her last day being the 20th of this month and the day she can put in for her severance package. Well out of the blue today the VP of on call calls her to inform her that she wants her to move from a leadership position, to taking calls. She can not tell her what her salary is yet (says she needs to look into it) and if she says no to the job offer she will lose her severance. The reason for the job offers is that 2 oncall NP's quit and now leadership is now scrambling to cover the holes in the schedule and not because they want her for the job. It is only a matter of time until the lay her off again, because she is 29 on the pay scale. And we all know UHC is shedding all the high paid employees. As I told her money can't by happiness or loyalty. I my opinion it is time to move on no matter if it cost her the severance. As she told me at dinner. THEY CAN KISS MY A–, I'M DONE!!!!

Any word on customer service reps in all departments-medical, vision, dental?
Thank you for your service! Maybe the cranky grammar Nazi should be a bit more understanding. People are under a lot of stress with all of the layoffs and trying to provide for our families. Grammar and spelling aren’t at the top of anyone’s list right now.
Fantastic.
Yeah worry about spelling....
I feel the same way UHC can kiss my A**!
Good for her. Find a place you can be happy at. They only want her back because they are being forced to find a quick stop gap. Mgmt needs to learn that layoffs create major uncertainty with whoever is left and they will be looking to leave as well.
I'm sorry people were obnoxious to you. I just checked the agreement for you, and the UHG Severance specifies that the position offered must equal 90% of her base pay in effect at the time of termination and cannot be more than 50 miles from her principal office and your home at the time of termination. I hope this helps and thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service. I wish you and your wife the best.
That’s crazy, sorry this happened to your wife. Thanks for posting - also a GL29. I am finding out about layoffs only through this site or through the grapevine. I hope she has some recourse, as someone else said- to deny severance, I think they must offer an equivalent job. Not certain about that but it makes sense.
She should check online for the severance info. They can offer you another position but if it doesn’t meet certain criteria as far as pay and distance she may still be eligible for her original severance package.
People amaze me!!! I am not a troll!!! Thank god my wife is not as judgmental as the both of you. And to think you work or worked in a field that helps people. Guess my wife sees the difficulty I go through after getting hit with an I.E.D. in Iraq. I lost a hand and suffered brain damage defending you and your freedoms. Spelling and typing are not my strong suit after the bombs impact on my body. But I think I do alright having to deal with the after effects. You both should be ashamed of yourselves.
Hard to believe a grade level 29 is married to spouse that can’t even spell.
This would be more credible/ believable if correct grammar and spelling used. Probably a troll.
