If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be HP Layoffs 2020? Any news or rumors?

Leave while you still have a job! Was told from an old HP exec “life outside HP is okay too”! Now I work at smaller company with a couple of old HPers and we can influence the culture with what HP taught us.
There are some in my department planned for January. Fortunately EER helped many groups reach or get near reduction targets so WFRs may not be do extreme.
No. Corporations will never have layoffs ever again. Once they make more money, shareholders will be content and pass on additional profits to employees.
I was told there will be layoffs in my department in the new year. I took the package.
36 years... checking out. Worked my butt off for most of that time. Couple mergers, multiple reorgs. Decided I couldn't do another one. Have 2 offers already, not sure if jumping back in the game is something I want or need... honestly, great run, but time to explore other options. Good Luck to all my brothers and sisters that have done the same but can't jump!
But rejoice. There is salvation. Find another job.
This is a rather ridiculous question. We already know HP is chopping 9000 people. Why even ask if layoffs are coming???
Actually since 2000 more or less. The Compaq merger just really stepped it up.
Not only have there been layoffs every single year but this has been going on since 2006.
every. single. year.
period.
