Just found this thread about Thermo Fisher. Did they do paycut during pandemic? Tmo stock price goes up so what reasoning for the paycut?
With the state of massachusetts increasing unemployment insurance per employee by $319 will this lead to layoffs

For people being laid off and offered a severance agreement to sign away Thermo's liability, beware. There are clauses and date constraints in the agreement that Thermo legal uses as a technicality to get out of paying. I got lucky and didn't sign. :)
The north Austin site fired 10% of the R&D engineering team. I saw a public record that Marc sold over 5,000,000 dollars worth of stock two days ago. We threw these people out on their asses during a once in a hundred years level pandemic disaster. Makes me hate this company and leadership team.
Once again Thermo makes the news by securing a government contract for manufacturing Covid-19 tests. Another $40 million that could have gone to supporting your front line employees. Instead they'll hire 300 new full-time employees despite still cutting salaries by 20% amongst their capital equipment group. Way to take advantage of a situation and still make bank while us little guys can't even pay rent.

What do you mean by never think Thermo Fisher will lay off? Stock goes up when company shows revenue and revenue is up either by generation of funds (selling product) or cutting down expenses (layoff or re-org)

A 20% pay cut despite healthy revenue. Corporate doesn't want to do the paperwork to assist employees looking to apply for UI benefits. We risk our lives assisting customers yet our reward is a feeling of betrayal. Stop catering to the shareholders for a moment and take care of your employees.
169 people let go in CMD. Everyone else also takes a 20 percent pay cut for 90 days. This company and leadership are a total joke. Poor marc took a 25 percent cut what will he do, buy hey hes proud of us and keep up the great work

Does anyone know who was laid off from CMD? This is very sad and mean as Thermo CEO said nothing about this. Not sure if it is a good company to work for under the circumstances

Layoffs today April 1, 2020 in Franklin and other sites. 30 or so people let go in Franklin, MA. More at other sites in Massachusetts and other States.

with Chinese supply chains to thermo stopped or slowed will there be layoffs soon
