I was laid off in April 2017 after 35 years of service. My previous review was stellar and I received the largest increase in about 10 years. I was very disappointed but knew that the a hole manager, who knew nothing except how to kiss up, would be the one to let me go in the next lay-off. It’s definitely not the same company that I started with back in 1982 unfortunately. It doesn’t surprise me any that they would have continuous layoffs as time goes by.
I was given a termination PHONE CALL in 2016. Very sad situation after 23 years. Still working as a contractor because all the knowledge is outside ADP now. Not the same company
@2viuo+125l6n3T - good point.
I know for myself, I became aware that my job had changed over several years and recognized that I was doing roughly the same job as newer people. So, I was not surprised when something happened, yet was surprised because I was raised to believe that if you did a good job your bosses would recognize that and my boss told me I was doing a good job. Little did I know............................
Unfortunately, loyalty is now one way. Look out for yourself and keep your resume updated.
How many layoffs are the result of jobs being shipped overseas versus jobs being made unnecessary because of robotic process automation? Wasn't that a clue for anybody a few years ago? And how many more jobs are going to be eliminated by the NextGen strategy? Carlos and crew already laid out that they're getting rid of a chunk of private cloud and they're moving (have moved) to AWS - why is anyone surprised?
Adp is no longer an American company. Most jobs will be in other countries eventually due to lower labor costs. How the USA government allows this to happen is beyond me. The outsourcing of America is real. Until our government acts in the best interest of USA workers this giant s—ing sound of the jobs moving overseas in multiple industries will continue until America is a poor third world county due to shrinking tax base.
Date: February 23, 2020.....ADP lay-off over 30 people in it’s Alpharetta Georgia office. Department COS . ADP are losing clients . ADP lost 20 clients as of Jan. 20,2020. Last year it was announced in a town hall meeting following to email any employees that leave the Alpharetta office would not be replace they would be replace in Pune India. We sit in the Alpharetta office for 6 to 8 months training our counterparts in Pune India only to have our jobs took him from us and sent to Pune India. Each of us was called downstairs one by one and was terminated and within minutes someone went to your desk and packed your things and brought your box down to you yes we were given a severance package after 12 years of service this is how I was treated. This week that pass I received a call from human resources they wanted to go over the paperwork oh my termination it was kind of funny it show me the age range of the people that were terminated the people that were terminated was between the ages of 40 and over I found it interesting. I have excepted the layoff or termination but it was a unfair process a lot of favoritism was played with managers with the people they chose to keep I have all my human resources certifications payroll certifications in over 20 years experience in payroll and human resources and they kept people with no certifications at all. ADP will be doing another layoff between June and July 2020 this is truly not a company any ones you wanna work for there is a cycle every 3 to 4 years this happens layoff is never announced publicly somehow is kept in house and no one ever knows this needs to be made public this company is and unstable when they laid me off I was informed they were doing to reconstruct and then I could reapply to other positions I laughed why would I want to reapply after being laid off after 12 years of service that was funny to me. ADP payroll system is so outdated everything is so manual there that’s where they’re losing clients it was not because of us employees it was their own outdated payroll system I can remember months ago them stating in a Townhall meeting they were trying to catch up it’s too late all these new payroll systems out there and companies they are very automated user-friendly do not take your business to ADP . The office in Alpharetta Georgia is not the only office that is laying off and downsizing other ADP offices are closing as well in the United States.
To all the employees left in COS Department in Alpharetta Georgia please start looking for jobs do not get caught in the next downsize I feel blessed I have a husband who is very supportive and we have managed to save over the years so I have a nice cushion for everyone else please start looking for other jobs be ahead of the game it is very competitive out here more so as you get older. Believe in yourself and your experience and your background that you have built and start looking for other jobs throughout their payroll companies are other companies. ADP will be losing more clients by the end of the year Marriott hotels with client leaving at the end of the year they made a great choice to leave ADP. Synovus leave ADP. ADP is going through eternal changes reconstructing and financial problems office is overseas they have filed bankruptcy.During the summer of 2019 they try to get a contract with Delta Airlines prior to this contract we were all told to come to work on that day dress very nicely and act professional whatever that means we’re always professional they were trying to win Delta Airlines over so we had to put on the show. This was very insulting on a professional level and a professional personal level because we are always professional and dress very nice for daily so why were we asked to put on the show because Delta Airlines want to walk through the building. ADP please close your doors.
ADP west DesMoines cafeteria closing end of February. So many empty desks in that location. Manager talks gossip with a few team members. Discusses absence an employee is out for (migraines) and other departments hear this DAILY talk. It is illegal to discuss medical conditions. A seniior rep and a level 1 rep CHIT CHAT all day long and us very annoying. Manager does not put a stop to it as he participates in it as well. Sure would like the few directors at that location would would walk by several times a day to witness thus CHIT CHAT and manager lack of doing there job ‘being a manager’.
The sad thing is that Mgt thinks they are right. So, until there is pain felt on the business end, the cuts will continue. I agree that the experienced workers were the knowledge base. THAT is the message that is not yet understood.
The Knowledge Base is the experienced people who have/are been/being laid off. Those employees have been carrying the company, not lifeless documentation.
I think they are counting on the Knowledge Base, not experienced people, to help the newbies answer ALL needs that pop up. (That brings a smile to my face.)
We were told in 2016 by the DVP that Carlos's vision did not include Senior or Tenured staff...so who does he think is going to have all the product knowledge to fix the un-fixable?
It was just told to use in a team meeting MAS Tech had some layoffs given 2mos. w/the severance package - So now the end begins for 2020!
I just was give my two months notice.
I have heard from sources not that high but folks that have relationships with folks higher up that the plan is to eventually; 5-10-15 years reduce the workforce 85%. Shocking and unattainable in my opinion but some folks perhaps envision it. Now, I admit that that is absolutely STUNNING but who knows? Good luck to those that remain, first year end with all VERPS gone. I’m sure that for many BU’s it started the week of Thanksgiving but hang in there!
Yea, by the time the cuts stop, it will be the CEO and CFO left standing. Unreal. Oh and a few salespeople.
Layoffs are expected to resume in February.
Yes, Carlos doesn't know what he is doing. What an embarrassing disaster.
I hear Carlos is planning to lay off everybody in the company. Yes every single one. He believes he can run the company by himself. I wouldn’t put it past the arrogant bas@tard.... he probably really believes it.
