The Bright Side at HQ in San Diego

If you can mentally block out the trauma from OR, there are a few items on the bright side.

  1. HQ employees will no longer have to shill for the company with pointless LinkedIn puffery that virtually no one sees and which have zero affect on the market or sales. And you won't have that hanging over your head any more for merit review. Oh, and those of you that have automated it, turn off your bot – it is out of date. Yeah, Bobby, that means you.
  1. With OR no longer generating inane actions the leadership will be in a vacuum. The OR cronies and the GE folks have no idea about the business so they will just be walking in circles, or in OR recovery. So you won't have to waste your time (and risk your career) continually explaining why each action item is complete nonsense and stupidity.
  1. You might actually see OR's cronies and the GE folks start leaving. It's always better to find a new job while you still have a job. The job market is good and these folks got an unnatural and underserved boost to their career that they probably realize they should leverage and springboard somewhere else while they still can.

An upside for the people that are left in RB, with the RIFs there are probably more parking spots available now.
