Is this going to be an interesting year as it relates to JC Penney Layoffs 2020? Any news or rumors?

JCP has not needed to lay people off because people are quitting in droves. From one merchandising team alone 8 out of 9 quit in the past 6 months. HR is having a hard time filling open spots. Not a great company to work for at the moment.
I'm not sure exactly how many jobs have been cut but they are downplaying it. All together though it's six stores, one call center, and some positions have been cut on a store and company wide.
If their new strategy works why did laid off happening?
I am with JCP IT. Our L1 team and service desk have all been laid off this morning. Everything has shifted to Mexico call centers / teams. I hope the best for everyone.
JCP laid off a number of IT Operations, Service Desk and Service Management folks this morning. Some good friends of mine from my days at the Corp HQ. Wish them well in landing other positions around DFW.
It has been very quiet, a little too quiet.
