CGI is a slimy company to work for. Especially if you work in the US, are older or have a family member who has a health issue. Since CGI is self insured for the US, you won't last long if you or a family member has an expensive health problem. Find a job at a less vile company.
Many people Laid off from CGI Canada office as well. CGI is always a hire and fire company. Job stability is a big issue.
The National Passport Center in Portsmouth NH eliminated approx. 50% of the CGI Federal contract staff effective 10/1/20. The "workforce reduction" was warranted due to the lack of foreign travel, but the manner in which was done was harsh. Unfortunately, I was part of the group that left.

Hang in there.
Laid off next week. Many from my team laid off since work is low and companies are not buying software due to COVID19. Suspect temporary layoff to become permanent. We'll see.
USSL, I am sorry this happened to you. I am on temporary layoff from CGI Los Angeles until December 9. I strongly suspect my "temporary layoff" will become permanent. I am very sad. Good luck to you.
Temporarily laid off and haven't heard from your manager in a while? Prepare to get a call soon. I did.
So sorry to hear
They had a 10% layoff for the US CSG (Commercial State Government) group in February 2020, and 72% were over the age of 40. Most of those individuals were not upper management.
Yes they are putting people who's project doesn't make money from client's on the bench which means if you don't find work soon you'll be laid off.
Yes there were layoffs at CGI 2020. At least 66 on the Commercial side at the end of February. I was one of them. I heard more were coming on Federal side but i wasn't able to confirm.
