Seems like they only reduce individual contributor positions. There are so many in upper management that should be eliminated due to complete incompetence and lack of actual leadership skill

I am told that managers are told from higher ups (VP level) to give them a “list” of their direct reports that they can let go and that is how these decisions are made

When I was let go as a system engineer from Burlington Ma.I was told it was my skill set, this coming from a director of development who asked me in a one on one meeting what is the meaning of client server. I was getting ill installing that c-apy sunrise product every single day of my life anyway! Life is good again.
