Nobody will tell you anything until your time is due to squeeze the last drop out of you. If manager tells you will be axed in a month, you will sit there not doing any work.

When I was RIF'ed in 2005 I was given zero notice. None. Zero. Zip. Na-Da. Called into a office by a VP, given notice, and clean your desk out, you get 6 weeks severance if you sign.
I was mad for 10 seconds. Then I realized no more heinous commute to Santa Monica and I felt better.
I signed and didn't look back. GFR.

Here in Warsaw is like this, managers are saying nothing to we stay until they drop the axe on ours necks at their best convenience. If you have a job offer, don't think twice, go for it.
