Thread regarding Alliance Data Systems Corp. layoffs

Company will be sold

The writing is on the wall and Alliance Data will be sold in the next two years in my opinion. Actions are underway to prepare things and the recent layoffs we're only one indicator. The technical transformation is an exercise to clean things up. Benefit costs nearly increased 50% for health insurance. The smart employees that remain behind will leave the company before they are forced out. It's clear more layoffs are on the horizon, probably mid to late Q1.

With no bonuses and no pay increases most likely not happening, why stay? As a survivor, I'm actively networking for my next opportunity. Although it's slow now, at the beginning of the year, hiring picks up, so don't be late to the party.

Hopefully it would be a good sale and things can get back a bit of sanity withing Alliance Data. If there is a data breach oversees and because of lack of oversight there could be multiple lawsuits including all those involved in upper management. And possible charges brought against the company and upper management. I would have no desire to be in that position.

You can bet that if there is a Data Breach there will be a class action lawsuit against Comenity, Allliance Data, CEO and upper management. Maybe that some of the clients would join in as well especially if they were mislead and not being told sensitive data is going to Africa, India and Mexico.

No one can only hope it is sold prior to the company being completely ruined or that the board wises up rapidly and sends the CEO and upper management offshore with a one way ticket.

Melisa Miller has been MIA around the Easton location. She used to be visible while Ed was at the helm and now that she has taken over, I don't recall the last time I have seen her even driving to work. It does seem like they are trimming the fat and they still have a ways to go. I remember when we first learned of the offshoring in SDS and I agree it was only a matter of time. I wish everyone the best, former and current employees.

The writing was on the wall in SDS when a bunch of Nationwide stooges were brought in and the first item on the agenda was setting up an offshore team. We were told by our technical director that our jobs were safe. Anyone with half a brain knew that was a bald-faced lie, especially when we were unable to open full time job reqs. I fully expect SDS to get rocked after peak is over.

I got out before all of this happened. Wishing everyone well who is still there and those who were negatively impacted by recent events.
