Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

When is the next round of layoff happening

I had an 1:1 scheduled with my manager tomorrow. He has been saying that he will schedule one and finally he scheduled on today.

Is there a plan for one round of layoff this month? I am new to Juniper, hence not much idea about it.
He also assigned couple of PRs today and was fine when chatting with me.

How do they usually relay the layoff news in Juniper.

TIA

It's no longer about performance. VPs and HR are using specific parameters and going after particular employee profiles including age, race, skills matrix. If you work in the bay area GTFO because better jobs are plentiful. I for one am looking like crazy now after 2 of my senior SE buddies got laid off. Its a sad state of affairs folks.

Confirmed - a coworker of 14-years was let go Wednesday. Not sure of the overall breadth and depth of the event?

Thanks for your inputs...my meeting is late in the afternoon...not sure if it still can entail this news.

Irrespective of what the meeting entails, I have started working on my resume today and will start applying from tomorrow.

This constant "if I will be laid off" feeling is not good, and the sooner I get out of it the better.

I read somewhere that the news is usually conveyed on Wednesday...why is that?

Tradition dictates that the next 2-3 weeks will be more explicitly rolling and then afterwards, regularly picking off people in stealth mode, as has been the way the last few years. Every dept. has their methods. Some will do it a few months later in secret. Just b/c it didn't happen to you now doesn't mean you haven't been already been scheduled for termination in Jan/Feb. Basically, you're on your tip toes every month if you have your eyes and ears open about these rumblings.

That's why it's imperative to GTFO ASAP. It hasn't changed in years and it's only getting worse as the market moves away from Juniper.

HR guidance is the supervisor schedule a morning meeting with the affected employee. Ideally in person, but with so many remote workers, often over the phone. Mentally prepare yourself for the possibility of being laid off tomorrow. If you dodge the bullet, no harm done.
