Thread regarding DaVita Inc. layoffs

What's going on at DaVita?

I heard the last two weeks were bad, with major layoffs taking place. But it's so hard to get any real info and there is nothing about it in the media. My mom works here but she always pretends everything is okay and I was wondering just how worried I should be about her...

I'd really appreciate it if anybody would be willing to share what they know.

How were you "blindsided"? Were you brainwashed and-or propagandized in the us corporate empire? Did you not know what their history is and was? Look at what happened at healthcare partner? They're gonzo. All the dancing, prancing, songs, cheers, we are heres, parties and empty promises. That's the us empire. A cesspool of waste, fraud, and abuse.

I was a career employee there and was laid off in October. I thought I was an excellent employee - had never been told otherwise and then I too was escorted out of the building like I was garbage. I was a member of leadership. If it happened to me, believe that it can happen to ANYONE. I absolutely loved working for this company and to be treated the way I was is despicable. I was completely blindsided. I would not recommend this company to anyone and agree with others who have added their comments - keep your resume updated.

Doomsday happen to several hundreds of teammates in October. Growth has slowed, the number of lawsuits continue to increase, the pressure to report a profit, etc. all lead to UM to lay-off teammates to ensure the bottom line looks good. I would never recommend to anyone to work at DaVita. Your a number that at any point in time UM will get rid of you. The place is full of corruption. What’s crazy is the federal government is paying for the majority of the treatments and if they truly knew what was going on DaVita would be out of business.

I got laid off in early Oct. after working there 8 years in IT. It was a complete shock as it was too everyone else who was affected. I understand that they needed to meet the 2020 financial goals by doing these layoffs but they could have handled it way differently. I was escorted out the the building as if I was a criminal. What made it even worse was that I was not allowed to say goodbye to any of my co-workers. There is nothing wrong with working there as things like this happen at every company. But I do recommend keeping your resume updated.

I was a multi-year IT employee and from what I gathered around 150 IT employees were restructured out of a job. I am one of them. I was devastated. That company will use you up and then spit out your bones. I recommend people not take a job there.
