Thread regarding Fry's Electronics layoffs

Renton

Stopped in at the Renton, WA Fry's on Thursday (10/10/2019), and it was a barren wasteland compared to its former glory. I wanted to get a gaming keyboard, and there was one weird brand to choose from. I asked the employee if Fry's was going out of business, and he told me, they were "re-modeling". Doesn't look like any "re-model" I've ever seen before. Guess that store is done. Sad too as I really like Fry's.

PS.
I was at Fry's opening day at the Roseville, CA location. I think I picked up some computer speakers. It was such a glorious day. There was a CompUSA across the street which shuttered right before Fry's opened because they knew they couldn't compete.

It turns out all the items the Unicorn left behind are refurbished laptops, 32” 720p TV sets, and white box motherboards.

1oqv, doubt that, more likely hundreds of disappointed visitors. Try sorting forum threads by the most active, to see if I’m right

I think the expensive-looking Bose display still up when I dropped by on October 5th. Wouldn't be surprised to see it gone the next time I drop by to look for discounted sc-aps.

Also, vendors have been in a rush to take their display and demo units out of the stores in case they close overnight (or have the locks changed) and they wouldn’t be able to get them back.

Rumor has it that they’re trying to keep the stores open until Black Friday. At that point, there will be steep discounts on anything that’s left until it’s all gone.

Is this the same person “visiting” every store and writing a new post on here?
