The impact that this move by Kroger/Frys is absolutely disgusting and disturbing, affecting the livelihood of so many. Kroger/Frys is clearly more concerned with satisfying the needs of major shareholders rather than supporting their very own. Being a former employee of Kroger/Frys, it is clear that the company is in a state of panic. Unfortunately, the writing has been on the walls for quite some time with the constant restructuring of personnel and business operations. Kroger is pigeonholed with a c-ap purpose to excite shareholders while feeding associates with fluffed up visions. For example, zero waste zero hunger. Sounds good in theory, but let’s be honest, there are associates who are struggling to make ends meet and the company continues to put its focus on such far-fetched and dramatic goals to compete with the other major industry leaders. Continuing to be reactive will inevitably be the end of the company. Although it is unfortunate for those who have been affected, there is hope and you will benefit at the end from this massive mistake by Kroger.
