Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Could this be the plan?

As I see it, the plan is to:

  1. Downsize and stabilize Power. Present and future business will be low volume and slim profits. It's hemorrhaging cash right now. Renewables look fair to midland.
  1. Maximize Aviation. It's their only cash cow as of now and the future looks great with outstanding orders and excellent profit margin.
  1. Sell everything else that isn't nailed down and has a buyer.
  1. Capital and Digital. Well, good luck with those.
  1. Talk "lean" and "six-sigma" until Wall Street investors bite. Live off past reputation as Danaher Corp hero. Hope investors think he can do the same for GE.

Found this post buried in one of the other threads. I agree with @11kPnMhL-1prk that this could be the way the company will go. I would like to get some other opinions on this???

Renewables look fair to midland.
HAHAHAHA, no. As long as gas stays cheap with fracking, renewables are just sold to hippies and california to make them feel good. And, as long as gas stays cheap GE will continue to hemorrhaging cash as nobody will see a profit buying it.

Talk "lean" and "six-sigma" until Wall Street investors bite.
Lean and six-sigma are survival strategies. If GE was looking to make the place look profitable we'd be expanding. This is dig in and cut the fat, not make ourselves look s-xy.

If Gas Power can get to cash flow neutral it will very likely attract interest from the mega size private equity funds. Of course the Chinese and the Saudis have the money to buy it, but they can’t because of export control.

Any buyer would ask GE to indemnify them against certain risks, such as environmental risks. You already see the pension going away, which makes it more attractive. GE would have to retain the retiree benefits. In the end Gas Power comes out clean on the other side.

And by the way, PE doesn’t care about what the French government thinks. You’d finally get the job cuts that are needed in Europe.
