Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

Is endpoint/altiris going to be k--led off?

Will broadcom put an end to this product? Seems like symantec has left it twisting in the wind for about 5 years now well the user base keeps dropping off.

Broadcom has an overlapping product, Clarity Client Automation. Was CA Client Automation.

On a 10/10 presentation Broadcom was asked about having two Client Management suites after Symantec deal closes and roadmap. Answer was could not disclose, Broadcom presenter seemed to stress only purchasing "Symantec Enterprise Security" products.

49:45 & 57:50 Symantec topics discussed.

Products aren't mentioned on Broadcom's own slides.

If it's 1/3 of all profit it proves how terrible things were being run at symantec, the product gets treated like a step child by sales and user groups keep getting smaller and smaller.

The only thing that will be k–led off is 2/3rds of the company!

It most definitely will not be k–led. It has the highest profit margin of all the enterprise products and accounted for 1/3 of all the enterprise group’s profits, essentially funding the engineering efforts to develop all of the enterprise products.

Broadcom is laser focused on making money rather than developing shiny new things. So, the endpoint management products should have a bright future within Broadcom.

Ya I wouldn’t worry. It still makes a ton of money. And that’s all Broadcom seems to be interested in.

as long as it meets the profitability metrics of broadcom it won't be k–led.
i expected that at least 5 CA products will be divested in the first 6 months after the acquisition but broadcom did not k–l a single product so far. but this can change ;-) let's see. don't panic.
