What do you think about being forced into retirement due to ageism, signing a legal severance document & then receiving a card from Schlifske stating 'Congratulations on you Retirement'? You would think that anyone with a half a brain could see how totally insensitive & ignorant that action is.

You’d think anyone with half a brain would realize you can’t force the best employees out the door and then expect the company to function a peak performance. Schlifske and the board clearly don’t understand the importance intellectual capital within the company.
Again, not a processing error. Stupid and thoughtless decision making!
The irony is that the same “retirees” are the ones that built the c-appy legacy systems that likely led to this type of processing error. Can’t blame New York for this one, lol!
I don't think the 'congratulations' card was a mistake. They are just stupid.
People who had been laid off earlier this year showed up recently on the Career Happenings page under the Anniversaries section, so it seems that someone is not updating the NM employee databases and errant congratulations are happening. Years ago when there were screw-ups like that, it was because "this is our first time laying people off" so they tried to excuse those things.
