Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

“Ask the Exec” session was useless

Amy’s “Ask the Exec” session was absolutely useless. I understand that she doesn’t want to speak about Broadcom’s benefits, but I know that several questions have submitted regarding the termination of employees’ Symantec benefits that were not answered.

For example, what will happen to money in employees’ Flexible Spending health care accounts on November 4? Based on my research, the likely answer is that all such funds will be forfeited and revert to Symantec. Amy could easily answer that question, but chooses not to do so, possibly because RemainCo will financially benefit if employees do not spend all of the money in their Flexible Spending accounts prior to November 4.

Did anyone really expect Symantec C Level to be helpful at this point?

Spend the FSA! Make sure you get your highend pr-scrip-ion ski googles for the season.

Once your employment ends (which it will in this case of moving to Broadcom, afaict), any money in your FSA disappears and you cannot submit any more reimbursement requests.

I would spend it before that happens. The nice thing is you can spend the entire amount you allocated even though you won't be making any contributions after moving to Broadcom.

So go out and spend your FSA dollars (glasses are my favorite for spending that money)

In fact, I believe that employees can spend all f the money that they committed to contribute to their flexible spending account for 2019 even if they begin working for Broadcom on November 4 and there isn’t anything that Norton/Lifelock will be able to do to recoup the money that employees would have contributed in November and December.

The failure to address questions of this nature seems deceitful to me.
