Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

they let the wrong people go

letting store managers and assistants go isnt going to fix the problem. #1coordinators are completely unecessary; let the general managers handle that spot. #2 sell products by demographics- you sell products in areas where nobody buys and dont sell what people need in others #3 stop making changes to tbings that work- like the gas pumps- recent software upgrades have the customers fuming. #4 stop blowing money on tags we dont need and extra signage

I completely agree with everything beside the coordinators. We do need to get back to basics. As a produce manager of a marketplace, if I ever need anything I could call up my coordinators. He would help me re merchandising my department, add stuff to my order, get ready for walks. My last seeing the general manager was over a year ago.

Kroger executives keep trying for the next revolutionary idea... all things mentioned earlier are real world problems... and they refuse to get feedback from associates or even their own salaries managers... the worst idea yet has been key retailing... many terrible ideas have come out of this failing program... but the company props it up like it’s the greatest idea since scanners!!! I have seen one good thing come out of key retailing... and they did away with it 3 years ago... instead now we have red and green pieces of paper on back stock carts!!! Seriously how freaking childish!!! Why do we have 3 or more assistant store managers with very little responsibility yet many stores have one grocery manager who oversees 8 departments when he - she isn’t stocking an aisle or 3 because of being under staffed or a call out... this used to be a career even if you chose not to move into management... you aren’t going to be rich but can make a good living.. those days are gone for anyone hired after 2004... now it’s just a job...

Who ever is in charge of ordering distribution for the stores, needs to get a grip. Ya go a little overboard on amounts. Not doing period rotation LMFAO . Dah yeah it's being done. Somethings just don't sell then we are stuck with the c-ap.hence the woohoo. I think someone gets kick backs on products ordered for stores. Keeping backstock low is impossible.
another big waist is a waste of time that is spent doing hourly scans whoever's idea that was get a grip what happened to the good old days when you just write down what you need and fill it up takes less time

I agree. They waste more money. The new sign program is sh–. They do not listen to the employees in the stores. They have their "yes" people that tell them what they want to hear. The front end coordinators need to go first each zone. They come into the stores and expect our front end managers to stop what they're doing to cater to them.

Looks like some store isnt doing their period rotation. Ya gotta throw those big yellow woohoo stickers on them and blow it out.

I work in a store in a very poor area, and we have expensive high priced stuff that a marketplace would carry. It doesn’t sell and it just goes out of date by the cart full. Sometimes multiple carts a day
