All store mgrs and assist mgrs at Frys in AZ have to go to mandatory meetings this week, for only 15 mins each person. I assume they will be told their fate then. Meetings are Tues, Weds and Thursday, Oct 8-10, starting at 8 am and going until 545 pm. Each mgr gets 15 mins, then the next one goes in. They are taking an hour off for lunch. So i assume they will go in and told if they still have a job or not, or if they are demoted or stay the same or transferred or not. I guess most of us will find out the end of this week what happens unless some mgrs spill the beans early on their fate.

per the email, they are making everyone go in, some are at the main office, some are at hotels, they are doing it district by district, so the place you go to for your meeting is only where your entire zone is going to.
And these are the same people who have made the employees lives hell for years. Now the shoe is on the other foot
HOW DOES IT FEEL!!!!!!!!!
It's just company policy is what we are always told.
If Kroger didn't open their mouth with the right to carry guns citizens, they would not have lost sooo much business in AZ. When your customer tells you 20 to 30 are not shopping at Frys (Kroger) anymore with such a statement to ask customers not to carry, trying to take their rights away!
There are armed off duty police officers at the buildings when they go for these meetings and the Tolleson office has security guards that walk the associates to their cars every day.
My husband works for Fry’s in Phoenix. All store managers and assistant store managers are scheduled for 15 minutes. I believe all meetings are with their respective district manager at the main office. But I do not know for sure. I do know that some are being laid off while others will be demoted or transferred. We find out my husband’s fate early on in the week thankfully. They’ve hung this impending exodus over our heads long enough.
So if they are doing what Ralph’s did, they will call you in to meet your DM then your job is safe. However if they call you in to meet at a hotel with HR, then I’m sorry to say that you will probably be let go.
They are having the DM’s do the demotions only but not the terminations.
I guess they figured it’s safer and disconnected from the stores and the main office.
This was planned over a year ago, they had SM ASM dept heads go through High Performing Teams to get everyone ready to move out of the slump of the productivity loop.
Is this information being transmitted through email? Rumor?
Since every single store manager and asst. Store manager is on the list, obviously every one is not getting layed off. I just hope the ones who really do s— are the ones that are going.
Is this confirmed?
I worked for Smith's, it is layoffs. They will go to only two assistants each store. That's means if you have 23 or 24 stores that's at least 24 assistants in each district plus a couple more to make room for the coordinators. They will give you a severance package but its all based on years of service with a max of 9 months.
Not a good sign that it's 15 minutes.. That's the typical HR time frame for "Layoffs" - BUT - I do know that being called in does not mean someone is being let go. - I know this from personal experience at least in the Kroger store division in TN.
