My Division recently finished our yearly Associate Surveys where we ultimately "grade" our management team and company! And of course that week our ASMs were on their best behavior! Telling us that we could go to them for promotions etc! It's all B.S. I've been with this company for 15yrs! I have learned every dept..worked in every dept...so that I would have the "experience" needed to get a promotion! Corp. Would come down and do interviews and ultimately the ASM is the one who decides anyway! And God forbid if your not a butt kisser...you dont get the position after putting in the time and knowledge for that specific position.. Get rid of them all...Get rid of all the history! Start with my store!!! Let's start fresh! I'm over the crude comments of my ASMs...I'm over the "non-existent" taking initiative!!! Their heads are so big...they are too good to help bag OUR customers orders when we have NO DAMN HELP!!! Not to mention the time if takes for our Front End Slary managers to answer a service call! They are too busy hanging out in the offices with their heads down glued to their cell phones, texting! What is more important! Making eye contact with your associates when a question arises? Answering a service call for our customers? or finishing up a funny video on Youtube! Rant over! Like or dislike this comment I dont care! I'm fed up!

All the shady worthless managers with big heads and egos need to go they are ruining feed the human spirit and do not value the core values , their attitudes that they are better than hourly associates and shouldn’t have to lift a finger except to point it telling them what to do and how to do their job when they have no clue from their head from their axx. Yes I am talking about the ones who sit in the office watching the camera to see who done what before they got there . Doing nothing but harassing the hourly employees they don’t like. Writing them up finding ways to get rid of them for their own personal reasons. Then HR / ASM’s Writing schedules giving people with seniority 8 and 23 hours while giving less seniority 40 hours helping certain people gain full time status being shady and dishonest. Then smiling in their face like they have no clue what is going on. Until the union is hot on their axx. Then they play stupid. Making their own rules instead of doing what’s right (core values - policy) and some of the ASP’s are right there with them knowing they shouldn’t be doing it. Taking credit for a job well done by their hourly employees. Those managers are the ones who deserve everything they get. The abuse of power. Then There are a lot of wonderful managers who work with everyone as a team. Treat everyone with respect and actually go talk to employees to see how everyone can work together to fix issues to keep everything running smoothly while at the same time making that employee feel that they matter and their ideas matter . Treating someone with dignity and respect makes that person want to work and do an awesome job. I feel bad for managers for losing their jobs or being layoff.
I don’t know that yearly surveys had anything to do with it because we were told at my store that our district manager went to a meeting about this over a month ago. So these layoffs have been in the process for a while.
I usually get much better customer service when a mgr or asst mgr is nearby! They need more mgrs!
Your comments is pretty one sided. Generalized comments that I personally know are not the behaviors of ALL ASM’S.
I’m in the Northville, Michigan location downtown and as far as I can tell, our management is great. Good people who treat everyone with respect and go out of their way to help customers. I like working for Kroger.
From a customers viewpoint I agree on not bagging groceries while they are standing around. We bag them ourselves mostly.
Plus, I have never seen a manager collect carts from the parking lot. Is collecting carts beneath them?
As a manager, you need to jump in where help is needed.
I agree that some of the mngrs should have been let go. They are the boss, while they sit in the office and don't work with the employees, texting on their cell phones. Kroger needs to do something to turn things around! Sales are down everywhere.
