This is complete and utter brutality. Kroger is toying with the livelihoods of many people who were recruited and supported to become middle management. Kroger is giving itself a very bad name and destroying its reputation.

As a very established, well known and top-producing recruiter/headhunter out here for several decades now. Let me tell you the entire space is warped in how people are treated so very different and sad versus 20 years ago or even 10 for that matter. The industry as a whole is no longer for career's it's not safe regardless if with Kroger, Walmart, Meijer, Wegmans or name it... I myself am retiring next month, I care about people and I can't begin to tell anyone any longer that any position in this space is good for their lives. Prayers for you all, start finding ways to work into another industry if you can.
I was recruited, relocation package etc etc. - and was not let go. But I agree.. letting ppl go - especially those who were promised things and brought in from the outside and relocated.. will pretty much crush Kroger's ability to attract outside talent. The entire way they are doing this though is hurting their brand and ability to tap good talent anywhere.
They should gut HR!
That's one of the worst parts. Kroger's headhunters were chasing people down, offering unlimited career opportunities, and getting them to relocate only to cut them loose. The new hires and people who relocated should band together and sue for fraud.
If I'm looking for employment and I see how things are going down at this company I'm running not walking away! If I were a recruiter I would be scared to think that I could find top talent to come work here!
