Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Corporate People

You all should really lay off those worthless corporate people who have NEVER worked in a grocery store, however, they come fresh out of college not knowing a damn thing about the business. All they do is harass people and try to institute policies that they themselves wouldn't even be able to adhere to. There was a Pharmacist named Paige with Smith's Food & D–g in Utah who got demoted from corporate and worked as a staff pharmacist. He ended up quitting because he couldn't follow the standards that he helped put in place.

I'm sick of the corporates taking away tools, resources and hours and raising outs standards when it was already hard enough trying to meet them WITH these tools. And then they want answers to things you can't give them because they took that resource away!

I am amazed at the "tweeks" that we get when someone graduated marketing school. They have never worked in a grocery store or any of our departments. They need to spend 1 month in each department to see what actually happens in a day. Some things that have come down are so effing stupid that they will only last 6 months and they will go back to what was done before. If it ain't broke - don't fix it. We make them a profit and we get less help, hours in departments constantly cut and morale that s—s.

I told store mngr this several times & he replied that I knew nothing about how to run a business. I told him that I started 2 businesses & had a degree in “ guess what...Business Administration. I left him w/ his mouth wide open & looking stupid.

Probably need to "layoff" the buyers as well. Store scratches are OOC (Out of Control)

Yes, I am constantly impressed with all the “process improvement” folks who can always tell me how to do my job better, but have never done my job. Amazing. It’s the rank and file in the trenches that know how to get the job done, not some numb-nut sitting behind a desk.
