This is definitely a lose-lose situation for everyone. It’s not that I don’t feel fore those who got hit by layoffs, on the contrary, my heart goes out to them, but the ones that got to stay this time have also little to look forward to. This isn’t just a matter of letting some people go, it’s a matter of company vision, culture, and its attitude towards it’s own employees that is changing for the worse. If we survived the layoffs, we need to keep in mind that there’s always going to be a next time, and that it will come sooner rather than later. Think that that our main objective should be to start looking for a new job in any case.

Ok what is next. I’m hearing that the bottom 7 stores in each division will shut down.
Kroger is shooting themselves in the foot..A constant turn around of training on the computer for a week and working a week and then GONE! I've been with them for 15 years and if I wasnt 2 years away from retirement I'd start over somewhere else..It used to be " Our people are Great" now its "Our People are gone! It's really sad what has happened in just 15 years! WAKE UP KROGER!
Work on an emergency fund... - and yes.. Many ppl are going to be looking for work elsewhere now because they don't have confidence in the stability of this company right now.
