Anyone thinking Boeing is not going have a HUGE layoff is living in a fantasy world. 787 production rate break from 14 to 12 in January. 777X first delivery slid to the right by a YEAR! Not to mention the unbelievable cash drain from the 737MAX. WARN's will be coming out this Friday or next.

I don't think there will be too many layoffs, just the non-union folks they want gone. But furloughs are are real possibility.

The difference being layoffs are perm, furloughs are usually finite.

If the union folks were smart, they would use that time to find another job. They have real skills that can do more than build aircraft. When the whistle blows again and only 50% come back, only then will Boeing know what they really have.

However, if we take history as an example, the union will wait around, drinking beer, and selling toys like boats to get by (I could use a boat) until Boeing calls them back. Boeing knows this and that is why they will furlough everyone, they don't need to pay them and they will all come back.

Kudus to the cold hard truth.
Someone is very much, in touch with reality.

The Max Debauchery is the most devastating event in Boeing’s history.
This absurd and obscene failure of management is one for the history books.
This event will turn into a documentary for the History Channel.
Unlike the category (World’s Greatest Engineering Disasters)
The new category should be (World’s Greatest Managerial Disasters)
MCAS was a decision that was purely based on and for the purpose of profit
and regaining market share.

Be assured the powerful will re-write the story assigning it to the category of
(World’s Greatest Engineering Disasters)

As with most air disasters
Industry standards use the (Link In The Chain) Model.
This is a business disaster that is multifaceted.
Putting aside the intrinsic missteps of Boeing, the global landscape has changed.

Airbus will now regain market share in this single-aisle class.
Bolstered by the survival of an Airbus A321, Flight 593 landed wheels up in
a Russian cornfield with no breach of the cabin.
All 233 passengers and crew survived, demonstrating to the world
That Airbus Has Arrived. (A beneficial Air Disaster)

  • Adding stress to BCA

Within the next two years China’s COMAC will be selling.
If not internationally the project will severely constrict Boeing sales into China
as China will be the largest consumer of COMAC

The MAX is just one (Link In The Chain)

I heard this number yesterday in the shop from a long time employee. It doesnt surprise me with the amount of cash boeing is bleeding out with no new money coming in to keep the hamster wheel spinning. Pickle forks, wing cracks, max, tanker issues and the giant 87 money pit, and so on. No software fix date or recertification date yet.. So i could imagine a furlough, or a shutdown, or a layoff... or all of the above.. I'm just glad it lasted this long..

Just wait till the stock price factors in all of the above and the decrease in deliveries. Just wait till the 23rd when the quarterly report hits and mulenberger has to testify before congress.

Buckle up the road is gonna get bumpy.

“Come the new year, yall be out of jobs”.

There will be No Layoffs:

It’s going to turn around come this January

  • This comes straight from the CFO —

The new plan is to put
The New and Improved
Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System
On all aircraft in the fleet
The 747; 767; 777 and 787 will then all handle just like the 737 Classic

I tell you, its sheer genius
This will be a huge cost savings for all of our former customers

It Got Craze when at the very top, they got dollar sign stupid.
That ship has sailed and everyone in all of the engineering sections watched it leave the harbor,
as it was taking on water.
Do you remember when Ben had told us all that there where problems.
Gota Set Sail, can't be late where at 46% M.S. - need more sales

All News is Suspect:
The only material that is useful,
are the listings of global sales for commercial aircraft.
Yes it’s available and more reliable than Boeing’s sleight of hand accounting.

As to the so called Government Investigation
They have already been bought off
Nikki Haley as an example sits on the B.O.D.;
This is only one way that Boeing buys politicians, they only buy the best.
The Best Thing Money Can Buy is Power.

We who receive a paycheck and have to be on the clock
Well we are just insects to the corporation.

So in the end, just move on.
Let It Go
There are plenty of life rafts in the sea.
