Kroger has continually sh– on Fred Meyer over the last few years and now it is completely ruined. They have absolutely no clue what this company stood for and now they are just driving it into the ground. All of the exec's at Kroger are giant pieces of sh–.

I worked for Fred Meyer for 25 years. It was once a great company and treated its employees and customers like family. I used to shop exclusively at Freddy's but now they want everyone to use self checkout because they don't want to pay checkers. They have systematically gotten rid of long time knowledgeable employees for young temporary people that don't care about their jobs or the customer. It is so sad
I have been at Fred Meyer for 8 yrs. I have seen more management positions added and seen some of these become expert time wasters. They have time to flirt with employees while the trash is piling up in the back,sometimes even sleeping in the Managers Office while anyone can walk by and see them asleep. I was reprimanded by a supervisor once for not lying to an inspector I reported it to Management, but nothing was done, except the supervisor was promoted later. Fred Meyer was once a great company, so sad.
To the person who said how great it is to be a union member at Fred Meyer:
While I may not like where the company has gone or is heading, I would never want to be a union clerk and not a store manager. You can be the best union clerk and be paid the same amount as a total loser. I am paid for my performance. And I perform well. I provide for a family of five and my wife is able to stay at home and raise our kids. While I may or may not agree with the moves made recently, this company has done well by me and my family during my career. I wish you the best and hope you are successful in your future endeavors but to imply that we would be better off as a union clerk, is laughable.
Looks like now is a great time to be union! People always wanna sh– on union members, but we don't have to give our souls to a company that turns around and fires us in mass waves 😎
Been at Fred Meyer for 21 years 15 in upper management. Kroger has ran once a great company and proud to work for into ground. Greed has changed the company. Fred Meyer is rolling over in grave. Kroger can go f— themselves. Don’t shop Kroger! Winco is better and cheaper and they are non union
