Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Barney would be ashamed

I can’t help but wonder what Barney Kroger would think of all this. A CEO who makes upwards of 11 million per year, and countless VPs of any and everything who make the big bucks too. Kroger says Store Leadership is the most important Role, yet we are where the company is cutting. How about you take a pay cut Rodney? Dave said that making 6 million as a CEO is insane - you obviously think making almost double that isn’t. Kroger Store Management is paying the price for the mistakes Senior Leadership have made. Just so you know, the whole country is watching and ready to spend elsewhere.

They have cut so many hours!! If they would just add an extra shift to every dept they would see a big difference in sales & freshness. I remember when it was about the customer.. it is far from that now . Things set empty because there is usually only one person to fill. Example, lunchmeat is run once a day in the morning. Afternoon it’s blown out & no one to fill . Especially digital sales . Corporate is holding is back on sales . All of them are so greedy & want the bonuses. I’m a dept lead & I feel that we should get a bonus if we meet our goals .. come on guys THINK!! Your the ones with the degrees so act like you know what’s going on .

So messed up that this "His" quote isn't found on Wikipedia (at least I had not been able to find it) instead it reads...Kroger ran his business with a simple motto: “Be particular. Never sell anything you would not want yourself. I'd never seen that during the time I worked at Kroger... I am sincerely torn with that. shame shame shame

They have cut some of the most friendly assistant managers from our store and bring in new ones. One of the new AMs never smiles nor he never replies to a customer’s “hello”. The manager & AMs will call for ‘all available associates to meet in ....... department for meeting’ but they have never, in my 2 1/2 years there, had a meeting where the cashiers can step into and become a part of the group. They act like the cashiers and baggers don’t matter but tell us, as they walk by, that we are the first and last impression the customers get.

"Success isn't measured by how much merchandise you sell.
Real success is found in the development of, and opportunities you provide for, the people who are selling it." ~ Barney Kroger

This quote used to be on the wall of our local Kroger.

Barney must be rolling in his grave at what they've done to his company!
