Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

How many of you are going crazy in this endless waiting game ?

How to cope up with this problem? Should I take any medication or therapy? Please suggest some solutions.

Find a new job and quit ‘waiting.’ That’s the smart thing to do... Symantec is dying. No one in the Information Security Community respects the brand anymore. It’s a dinosaur that’s slowly becoming extinct.

Been in this waiting game and it was extremely draining to work not knowing if it mattered anymore. Talk to your manager and colleagues to find out the outcome of your group. Share concerns with trusted colleagues. Being informed will help reduce that anxiety. A change might be good after all.

wait till you know your final status. then act. i was in the same situation a year ago. at first the situation drove me crazy but simply make out the best of the situation. relax, keep your self busy to avoid go crazy. evt. use up a few vacation days, etc. in most countries you won't leave without a package if you're TERM. if you're STAY you should wait till you get your offer letter. if you don't like it you can still start to look for another job. if you're TRANS you have another 6-12 months with likely higher salary and you can sill use this time period to look for a new job.

As a former CA employee my advice is develop your exit strategy NOW. Even if you transfer over you’re not going to like it here. People are an antithesis when it comes to Broadcom...

Man looks in the abyss, there’s nothing staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss. Wall Street

You should relax. It’s not the end of the world whatever happens. Get some other options on the table, all will be fine
