They are hiding it. Can we extrapolate the number? Smith's has communicated to their folks that 200 people were let go. How do we use this number to extrapolate the overall Total Number of Employees Laid of By Kroger in October 2019??? For example, if we assume Smith is 10%, then X and Y, etc... Thoughts?

This should be easy. Smith's is about 5% [1] of the total revenue and number of stores. Since we are certain that Smith's laid off 200 people, than 1% of the total layoff number is 40 people (200/5=40) - then you multiply 1% with 100 to get 100%... So 40*100=4,000...
There you have it, Kroger's laid off 4,000 people...
