I used to tell everyone we stopped selling groceries about 5 years ago because we were so worried about these stupid clip boards.
We would manage reports instead of our stores. The main problem I see is that they are keeping the ones that had their nose so far up the DM’s butt, I feel bad for anyone that is still working for them.
Line employees watch out they’ll be coming after you next.
You should see inside kroger manufacturing! It’s the same as what I see in the other post. Way to much time wasted on pointless paperwork. The problem with kroger is they fret and try to fix things that don’t need fixing. They worry about things they don’t need to worry about all the while they run there employees in the ground with constant negativity. They act like they don’t even want you to work at kroger. The managers are completely rude and incompetent. Clueless to the process that they have been entrusted to manage. They do the samething everyday yet can’t seem you ever get it straight. They have horrible leadership, only caring about themselves is not leadership. Problem with the leadership is just like in the stores they could careless about the customer and the employees. That’s why kroger has gone to waste. Factory slave work is how it feels with no protection or respect for the employees. Work for kroger and don’t even shop at kroger because the fruit and vegetables look dead. The meat always looks brown, the fish always looks yellow and the milk taste oxidized. Also didn’t do the annual survey. Pointless. You will get no response anyway.
At the store I work in, we have a grocery manager and he has 3 assistants. The night crew has 6 members on the team. We get 7 loads a week, and usually run a three person crew because the grocery manger does not know how to write a schedule. The grocery manager ran 3 other depts. and was pulled from them because he messed them up so bad. One asst. told people he wanted promoted so he didn't have to throw freight anymore. They both like to walk around B.S.ing with everyone. Then they like to brag about the 40 hours of overtime they got the week before. However, it is the crew that is being told we do not work hard enough and we constantly have our hours threatened by upper management. Kroger needs to look at who works and who milks it.
30+ years and I can tell you all the BS is from above store level. All those that work get to carry those that don't as the management is trained no waste they'er time on slackers. Ever see the tv's with the 3 yellow balls? Those are to tell you how many you have open, how many you need open, and what you will need in the next 20 min. Kroger's never schedules by the flow data they get from this system, they just train everyone stocking as backup cashiers.
In Omaha Our Kroger brand is Bakers, they installed a gas station and pumps.
I was using it, but then no windshield wash or scrub sticks.
One day there was one being passed among customers. I confronted management in the store, she said we will take care of it. They didn't
After the third complaint I drive across the street to get gas. They have good cleaner and wash scrubbers.
I got angry with them buying pizza, they had a sale but it wasn't the supremes but didn't say that, only in small code. I went to Walmart and bought them cheaper than the sale ad and got what i wanted.
I buy Cod from bakers but it is always yellow colored, I can't eat that. It should be ghost white.
Ps Some employees are nasty to customers.
I do feel horrible about upper management layoffs. There's tons of waste integration walks that caused these men and women working endlessly night and day. Plus, many of which have worked for the company for 20+ years. I'm definitely not making any large financial decisions anytime soon. They're building a case ready meat packing plant in eagle mountain, and i know my job is next. Good luck to you all.

I, and several other long time employees I know, have been discussing this possibility. Most of us think it's likely that after they go after department heads, senior employees will be next, those with 10+ years with the company. Several of us are looking for other employment, beginning this week. I hope I get something fast enough that I can state this purge as one of the reasons for my departure. I usually don't do the annual survey, but this year, I did, stating my dissatisfaction with how the company is run. Kroger is going to collapse in the next decade, I'm fairly sure, and with the increasingly bad policies, and intentional blocks to increase effeciency and customer service, that is speeding up.
Hours wasted daily running reports, etc. , instead of actually filling the shelfs. Kroger has turned on it's employees and it's customers. Turnover is high due to report burnout. Didn't do the annual survey this year, fed up with the lack of response to issues..
I use to be a backup lead, and I can agree that they cared so much about paper work than anything else. We were constantly short staffed but God forbid I work on the department instead of spend half an hour on paper work 3 times a day with a mandatory hour long walk with the store manager.
Krogers has been way too concerned with the clipboard for years! If they took the time spent on running reports and showing the numbers to someone who’s only task is to push a pencil, and spent it in their customers and invested in employees training, all would have a better work experience!
I'm a lead in a department right now, and I say all the time that deforestation is Kroger's fault because of all the paperwork we have to EVERY day. We spend more time documenting what we are doing than doing the action were documenting. It's a– backwards and something with our processes has got to change.

There is something sinister when it comes to executives - I am sure they have a plan for all of us.
