They are not laying people off. They are downsizing at corporate level (for now). So basically taking jobs away from approximately 8 people and turning it in to a 3 man job. (That's just in my district) So of you thought you had a problem getting a hold of the coordinator before just wait another week or so and you're screwed. Our DM is even stepping down. I imagine before they force him down. And what happens to those 8 people? Some may get one of the 3 positions and some will get offered store level jobs. And it's a take it or leave it situation. No severance package, nothing. Some will have to take huge pay cuts and/or have to join the union and lose several weeks of vacation time.. Before anyone says ah yes the corporate people deserve it! That is not always the case. These are people, real human beings. Some who have worked there tails off to get where they are. I know several coordinators who are honest to goodness good people, who actually care and their whole lives are being turned upside down right now.
